Reflections

▼ Experience
Starting on my degree journey at Taylor's, this typography class has been an eye-opener since I graduated from the Foundation in Design. Not only does this module cover whole new information and one of the design fields that prove to be essential in visual graphics in current society, but it also leads me to a whole new dimension of design that I was not aware of before the start of this semester. I'm glad that I met helpful lecturers with professional mindsets, Mr Vinod and Ms Hsin Yin who act as a guiding light on my endless voyage, providing me with insights and filling me with passion towards this class. The whole documentation thing using Blog as instructed by Mr Vinod assisted me in visualizing the improvements I made over the 3 months and it gave me the chance to look back on all the stuff I've learned during this long semester period.

▼ Observations
I have made a lot of observations, whether searching for ideas and references on the Internet or receiving feedback from my lecturer on my assignments. These observations on the characteristics of various fonts helped me in emulating and eventually creating my own works that suit the typography rules. Besides, I got to have a detailed look at the other peers' creative works during the feedback session with the lecturer, enjoying their various perspectives on the same topics.

▼ Findings
Before I took this module, I had the mindset that typography was all about art: lines and graphics. However, the lectures taught me about how there are many details such as techniques and rules to follow in order to fabricate a complete typographic design. Throughout these 14 weeks of further reading with the materials (books) provided by Mr Vinod about typography, I'm able to gain different points of view and advice from the compelling wisdom as spoken and published by other professionals in the field.
