Interactive Design Planning and Prototype

After deciding my main topic of interest for my thematic interactive website, I allow myself to work on the initial prototype design of my website within a short time period. During this assignment phase, I expanded the wireframes I made from the previous task and made visual designs to visualize how my websites will look in the final product.

Task 2 - Interactive Design Planning and Prototype

"Students are required to work on their visual design and start planning their website’s interactive design elements and features. Unlike traditional static websites, when it comes to interactive design where animations are present, the plan should include not only the layout visuals but also the animation example or reference. Students can build their animation or user-reference animation to demonstrate the intended idea." — Shamsul Hamimi, 2024

I'm required to make a walkthrough video presenting my design plan and showing the animation examples/ references.

Learning goals:

  • Technical And Digital Media Competencies – Demonstrate creative use of software, and effective use of digital media skills to promote or communicate design concepts or solutions.

Design Plan Overview

Focusing on my design concept, I expanded my visual design onto the LoFi wireframe I made during the design proposal. I divided my interactive website pages into categorized sections, where there are a loading page, main page, story pages, and pages for the song details, artist and song variation

My reflections

Referring back to the second week when Mr Shamsul discussed this design proposal, I enjoyed my time pondering the topic that I'm interested in and the ways I'm going to bring the design to life. Looking at the style of one of my favourite artists JVKE which I listened to during the COVID-19 pandemic, I'm glad I have the opportunity to develop an interactive website to honour his talent and efforts in the music industry.
